CTK Kasoa Celebrates 10th Anniversary

The Christ the King Catholic Church at Kasoa C.P in the Cape Coast Archdiocese recently climaxed its 10th Anniversary celebration with a grand durbar.
Clad in their Anniversary-branded Polo Shirts, elated Parishioners engaged in drumming and dancing and also raised funds for the completion of a Chapel for the Rectorate.
The Most Rev. Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle, Metropolitan Archbishop of Cape Coast who was the Guest of Honour at the event congratulated the Priest and Parishioners on the anniversary celebration and commended them for the sense of unity and togetherness in the Church and for building a vibrant community.
He expressed gratitude to Rev. Fr. Stephen Werekoh, the Priest-in Charge for his dedicated service, and to all the faithful who have tirelessly supported the mission of the church, since its inception as well as the founding fathers and the past Priests of the Church.
Archbishop Palmer-Buckle entreated them to continue building the Church Community with the same zeal and dedication that has brought them this far, adding that the future is bright with the promise of renewal, mission, and growth.
He urged them not to only build a Church of stones but of living Stones (individuals) who are firm in faith.
Fr. Werekoh in a goodwill message said their devotion to the Catholic Church, despite their diverse tribal backgrounds, stands as a testament to unity, “I have learned so much from your example of unity and devotion, and I commend you for it”.
“As you celebrate this tenth anniversary, I pray that God continues to unite you in purpose. As you prepare for the 20th anniversary, may each of your unique gifts serve the church and humanity. Let this moment also be an opportunity for self-renewal and reflection”, he said.
The chairman of the Advisory Board of the Church, Mr. Francis Amosah, on behalf of the Parishioners thanked Archbishop Palmer-Buckle for honouring their invitation and welcomed him to the Church.
He appealed for support to help complete the Church building project, stressing “as we advance our church-building project, we humbly seek your support-whether through financial contributions, building materials, or prayers. Your involvement is crucial to our mission and will be appreciated and recognised”.
There were other goodwill messages from Past Priests of the community, Religious Congregations and the St. Martha Church, Kasoa.
Citations were presented to some individuals and institutions for their immense roles in the development and growth of the Church.
The event was chaired by Mrs. Juliet Mahama Awuni, an Educationist. Also present were many dignitaries including the Chief of Gomoa Asabakrom, Nana Bentum Okyerefou I; Togbui Adesri VII, Chief of Dzodze; Madam Mavis Hawa Koomson, MP for Ewutu Senya Constituency.
At a Thanksgiving Mass the following day, Archbishop Palmer-Buckle confirmed 17 candidates.
The theme for the celebration was: Celebrating Divine Sustenance: A Decade of Grace, a Future of Renewal, Mission and Growth.
The first Mass of the Church was celebrated on August 24, 2014. It was an Outstation of the Kasoa St. Martha Church.
